Code of Conduct
All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everybody.Our conference is dedicated to providing a spiritual conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, disability, physical appearance, race, or ethnicity. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate within the conference venue, including talks, workshops, receptions, Twitter, Facebook, and other online media.
All participants (including but not limited to: staff, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and members) of NBCC events are expected to abide by the following:
Expected Behavior:
1. Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.
2. Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
3. Be mindful of surroundings and fellow participants. Alert event staff if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
4. Wear your badge at all times while at the event or off-site venues.
Sponsors and Exhibitors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Additionally, promotional messages or activities outside of appropriate areas are not permitted. For example, exhibitors and sponsors may promote their products and services within their designated spaces but not in the public areas except as a response to a question from another participant. Non-exhibiting or non-sponsoring attendees may not promote commercial activities in any event space.
In addition, NBCC expects that:
- NBCC attendees are respectful of other patrons sharing hotel and venue space with our group.
- NBCC attendees do not share event badges with other individuals.
- Attendees follow all rules established by NBCC.
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, NBCC staff may take any action they deem appropriate, including expulsion from the event without warning or refund.How to report Suspicious Person/Behavior/Package. If you experience or witness a life safety emergency, please contact your local authority; in the USA dial 911, immediately.After event hours, if you see something suspicious or would like to report a security issue, call local authorities or notify the hotel’s front desk who will alert event security.
